Moon Cactus will give your home a Mexican feel! Colorful all year round, this Ruby Ball cactus plant is rather curious with a main green stem, topped off with a brightly colored cap, sometime called a lollypop cactus as a result. This very unusual and decorative easy care plant for the home would look stunning virtually anywhere. Research has shown that cactus has ability to absorb electromagnetic wave radiation, reduce computer endangered human health "specific functions". Cactus body is a stingy, thick body, containing water, which readily absorbs and dissolves the ambient electromagnetic field radiation and toxins. It also reduces indoor pollution, beneficial to human health. Gymnocalycium mihanovichii, often called chin cactus, is a species of cactus from South America commonly grown as a houseplant. The most popular cultivars are varied mutants, which completely lack chlorophyll, exposing the red, orange or yellow pigmentation. These cultivars are often called moon cactus. Many people think that the colored part at the top of the cactus is a flower, which is not true, it is actually the Gymnocalycium. It lacks chlorophyll and can only grow when grafted onto a green rootstock where the energy for the growth of the plant comes from. Without the green rootstock the beautiful brightly colored cactus will not survive. The cap will increase in size and grow over time, whilst the green stem will remain the same size. Light: It's a really striking cactus that needs to be in the bright light but out of full sun. This easy to care for cactus grows well in a warm and sunny spot (not in full sun) in your home. Water: Water moderately, as the compost can be a little on the dry side (let the plant dry out between waterings). During the cold winter months the plant requires hardly any water, so water less often. In spring give the occasional misting and then slowly start watering again.
