Let’s ReEarth: WED Campaign 2024

Let’s ReEarth: WED Campaign 2024

“We cannot turn back time, but we can grow forests, revive water sources, and bring back soils. We are the generation that can make peace with land.” #LetsReEarth

In the spirit of World Environment Day and in alignment with the UNEP theme, Rolling Nature and Initiative Earth proudly launch the “Let’s ReEarth” campaign for 2024. This initiative is more than a call to action—it’s a commitment to the future of our planet. Since 2014, every year Rolling Nature actively takes initiatives through different Awareness Campaigns to mark the celebrations on WED. We have had very successful campaigns in past where people from all spheres of life actively participated and supported our campaigns.

We aim to support UNEP’s global movement that recognizes the urgency of ecological restoration. We will love to empower individuals and communities to take tangible steps towards healing the Earth. Through education, action, and collaboration, we can rewrite our environmental legacy. Everyone one should be involved in restoring land, halting desertification and building drought resilience. By joining forces, governments, businesses, civil society and individuals can give nature a helping hand and forge a more sustainable world for generations to come.

Why we need to ReEarth?

Imagine a world where lush forests stand tall, where water sources flow clean and abundant, and where soils are rich with life. This vision can become a reality if we act now. “Let’s ReEarth” is about nurturing the seeds of change to cultivate a greener, more resilient Earth.

Land sustains life on Earth. Farmlands, forests, grasslands, savannahs, peatlands and even mountains provide humanity with the goods and services that make civilization possible. Those landscapes are underpinned by aquatic ecosystems, such as oceans, rivers and lakes, which sustain the water cycles that keep land fertile. But the world’s ecosystems are under threat.

Unsustainable patterns of production and consumption are driving the triple planetary crisis of climate change, nature and biodiversity loss, and pollution and waste. More than one-fifth of the Earth’s land area, some 2 billion hectares, is degraded. Some 3.2 billion people, or 40 per cent of the world’s population, are impacted by land degradation, which disproportionately affects those who are least equipped to cope – Indigenous Peoples, rural communities, smallholder farmers and the extremely poor, especially women and youth. Fifty-five million people are directly affected by droughts annually, making it the most serious hazard to livestock and crops in nearly every part of the world.

Activities

These activities are designed to create a ripple effect of environmental consciousness and action. By engaging with our community on multiple fronts, we aim to foster a culture of sustainability that will grow and flourish with each passing year. 🌳🌼🌍

Awareness: Social media is a powerful tool for change, and we’ll harness it to spread our message far and wide. Rolling Nature will also publish a series of informative and inspiring blogs that delve into the importance of restoring our natural habitats and the practical ways we can all contribute to this cause. Our blog will serve as a beacon of knowledge, shining a light on the path to environmental restoration focusing on importance of trees, how to revive our soils. We will publish a series of engaging and educational articles that explore the critical role of natural habitats in our ecosystem. Each blog post will offer practical advice on how individuals can contribute to this global cause, from simple daily habits to participating in community projects.

We will be focusing on:

  • The problem with land degradation
  • Desertification and drought
  • The potential of ecosystem restoration
  • How to bolster food production through restoration?
  • Make Agriculture Sustainable
  • Save the Soil
  • Bring Back the Buzz
  • How to revive water cycles and sources?
  • Restore Freshwater Ecosystems
  • Renew Marine and Coastal Areas
  • How to bring nature back to our cities?
  • How to generate financing for restoration?

Plant Distribution Drive: To put our words into action, we will organize Free Plant Distribution events, providing individuals with the tools and knowledge to bring greenery back into their lives. Our plant distribution drives are the heart of our hands-on efforts. We believe that every individual has the power to make a difference, and our plant distribution drives are designed to equip them with that power. Rolling Nature will not only distribute plants but also provide materials on plant care, the benefits of indoor and outdoor plants, and how to choose the right plants or trees for different environments.

We’ll encourage participants to share their plant journey on social media with #LetsReEarth to inspire others. For organizations, societies, and NGOs planning to celebrate or organize Environment Day activities, we offer bulk plants/ tree saplings at heavily discounted rates. We can also provide indoor/outdoor customized potted plants for distribution to your employees, friends & family for Environment Day. Feel free to reach out to us via email at sales@rollingnature.com or care@rollingnature.com, or send your queries to Rolling Nature WhatsApp at 8698407574 for Mumbai and Pune.” 🌱🌿

Plantation Drives: We will lead by example, planting trees and restoring green spaces, showing that every seed planted is a step towards a healthier planet. We’ll organize events in various locales, focusing on planting native species that thrive in the local climate and contribute to biodiversity. This will help learn the significance of each species and the best planting techniques to ensure growth. We’ll try our best to document each event with photos and videos, creating a visual story of progress that can be shared widely.
