Reconnect with Nature Through Live Plants

World Nature Conservation Day is observed on 28th July to increase awareness about and protecting the natural resources that the Earth is bestowed with. We need to conserve what we are left with, if we don’t, we as a species can face mass extinction in coming ages.

Urban life is a fairly new concept for our species. During most of our evolution we have been living in close contact with nature. But now, we are overusing lands and depleting forests for urbanization. We are releasing toxic chemicals in the atmosphere and water resources. We are cluttering earth with too much of plastic. Taking more and not giving back to the mother earth has caused severe deforestation, alarming pollution levels, depleting ozone layer, untimely floods, earthquakes, melting of glaciers, climate change, threat & extinction of flora and fauna and more.

World Nature Conservation Day recognizes that a healthy environment is the foundation for a stable and productive society and to ensure the well-being of present and future generations, we all must participate to protect, conserve, and sustainably manage our natural resources. The natural world is facing an increasing threat from unsustainable practices by us and the challenge is how to preserve and conserve nature in the process of achieving sustainable development. The state of nature has an impact on human survival, local and global economics, community life, human health and wellbeing.

Modernization has ultimately made us too gadget friendly and lovers of technology. Nature and its components seem to be virtual world, which has very less of attention. As we build bigger cities, we're not aware how much and how fast we're undermining our connection to nature. Our high technology gadget friendly cities may provide us with everything but we are totally missing out on opportunity of being humans and connected to elements of nature. Bringing garden indoors or having some greenery at work spaces & homes connects you directly with Mother Nature. Caring and growing plants around boosts moods, reduces stress, increases productivity and well-being and lets you breathe fresh with better air quality. Thoughtfully picked natural plants can offer meaningful interaction with nature with a psychologically restorative natural environment even in a dull and boring space. NASA suggests keeping 1 plant in 100 square feet area. Incorporating more indoor gardens and urban agriculture; and creating spaces within and around buildings to touch, see and smell plants can inculcate practices of nature conservation.

People must be able to interact with these elements using more of their senses in order to experience physical and psychological benefits of nature, as well as to shift the collective baseline toward better understanding and appreciation of the natural world. Nature and its components when comes in sync with humans they restructure our brain patterns, and it’s all for good. It causes rejuvenation and happiness.

We are part of nature – let us reconnect with ourselves by making natural elements a bigger part of our daily lives. Connect with Nature with some ready to display indoor plants with a click, delivered to your door steps and live with nature in harmony. Grow older with you plant buddies and do your share to keep conserving natural resources. The gifts from nature in their best form makes life worth living and happy.
